What a wonderful two days we have spent with Domenico and Puglia Kitchen. He gave us a wonderful pasta making lesson and we learnt how to make traditional Puglian pasta! Dom was so patient with the kids and encouraged them to do it all on their own, even our little 7 year old. And let’s not even begin with the food - two delectable breakfasts and scrumptious dinners - with home cooked, traditional Italian cooking. Fresh vegetables and cheeses from the family “Masseria”. Everything was so fresh and tasty. It was an amazing experience! Thank you Dom, from The Levy Family.
We have done cooking classes in many countries around the world, but this was the best of all. Excellent local product cooked with passion by Domenico.
All in all a great experience and a perfect lunch.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Domenico and Francesca organise my fiance's birthday lunch for our family and friends while we were in beautiful Puglia! The lunch that they organised for us was an absolute highlight of our 4 week trip to Europe. The food was some of the best we have ever eaten and the quality of the homegrown and homemade food was exceptional. Every plate was licked clean!
Domenico and Francesca are themselves two of the kindest people who went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect day (they even made us extra passata because we mentioned we loved it, cooked us an extra loaf of fresh bread for the next day and brought fresh eggs from the farm for our breakfast!). They are two very special individuals and I cannot recommend them and their team enough. We would fly back to Puglia just for more of their cooking!

We were looking for a company to provide chef services that we could offer to our clients who rent our properties in the Ceglie Messapica area. After searching various internet sites we came across Dom and Fran of Puglia Kitchen, we wouldn't recommend anyone we hadn't tried ourselves so we asked Dom to come to our villa and provide a lunch of antipasti and a pasta course with wine pairings. Dom was very easy going, allowing us to fine tune the menu as my wife has some very definite dislikes!
Dom was very quick to respond to any emails which is very refreshing, and arrived punctually on the day.
He provided a fantastic meal and managed to convert my wife to bread salad with his delicious 'salty tiramisu'. He put up with my bombardment of questions and watching him prepare the food was a joy, it was if he had been in my kitchen all his life, all the while chatting and describing how he sourced the food we were about to eat.
He even cleaned up after him, and we had the left overs for tea, some of the best cheese I have tasted in Puglia (from his family farm) and some wonderful wine.
We are more than happy to recommend Puglia Kitchen, and will be providing their details in all our properties.
We hired Domenico to cook for my daughter’s 30th birthday party at our house. We were about 20 people. Domenico had lots of ideas for suggested menu items. After discussing the options with him we agreed he would make a beef dish cooked in Barolo wine, calzone di cipolla, antipasti and salads, different kinds of rustica pizza and panzerotti. All the guests really enjoyed watching him make these and they tasted delicious. The panzerotti in particular were fantastic. He brought a variety of cheeses from his family’s farm to use. He also made a dessert of poached pears with blue cheese. I would wholeheartedly recommend Domenico. His English is good and he conveys his passion for food using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. He has a very easy going nature which added to the relaxed atmosphere we wanted. It was an absolute treat for all of us.
We had a fabulous evening. It was so interesting and so much fun learning how to make the pasta, and such a treat to have Domenico cooking for us. The dishes he produced were absolutely delicious and he was full of passion and information about the cuisine in Puglia. Everything was just perfect. You have to have this experience if you're in Puglia, it's an excellent way of getting firsthand insight into the relationship the locals have with food. Thanks so much!
I wanted to organize a business dinner with some people working in the food and beverage industry, very ‘foodie’ style in my new house but having no time and not even the skills… I decided to hire Domenico who was highly recommended from a friend of mine. Best decision ever, from start to finish!!! I wasn't able to come back from work before 6,30PM (dinner was scheduled at 8PM), don't ask me how but Domenico has prepared a 4 course meal (including some hand made pasta and a cake!!) in 1 hour and 30 minute with the kitchen completely clean and table set up in the most perfect way! The food was delicious, my guests are still raving about it. The pasta was cooked to perfection - the mix and contrast of flavours was incredible. We were understandably full at the end but the light cake he had prepared (a tart with apples and spices with almond flour) was the perfect finish. He brought all organic and fresh ingredients directly from his farm in Puglia and twisted the tradition with his unique creativity. Seriously, the food was to die for but also what makes the experience unique is Domenico’s personality and story telling. It was such a fun show-cooking, we call felt like we learnt something! We got to see some really interesting recipes and the use of lots of herbs and species that for some reason we never use in our daily life! I cannot wait to have another occasion to have back Domenico and Francesca in our home!
I absolutely love potato gnocchi and have always bought it pre-made and put a pre-made sauce on it when eating it at home. I had let Domenico know how much I love it… And thanks to him I know to make it from scratch!
He showed me how to make it from picking the best ingredients, through preparing the potatoes in the oven, forming the gnocchi to cooking it and making a sauce! Every conceivable question he pre-empted and answered!
He suggested ways I could easily change small aspects of the recipe he showed me so then I could easily make different types of flavours of gnocchi depending on varieties of potato and how they were cooked before forming the gnocchi and different sauces that would complement them with a wonderful range of beautiful fresh ingredients!
I can now make one of my favourite foods in a wonderful amounts of ways! If he can teach a gastronomic nightmare like myself, he can teach anyone! All this and I was taught cooking styles and about ingredients, without it ever feeling like a lesson, more like a wonderful afternoon with a friend! I truly enjoyed my afternoon with the lovely and charming Domenico.
I prodotti sono genuini provengono dalla masseria Bianco. Ottimi i formaggi specie quelli stagionati, caciotta, caciocavallo. Ottima le orecchiette fatte a mano e conservate sotto vuoto. per gli amanti dei prodotti salentini le salse e i pomodori secchi sono una squisitezza. La cucina dello chef Domenico è sublime! Provare per credere!
We had a very special day with Domenico and his team the day after our wedding. The food was fresh, tasty and very traditional to the Puglian region. The team were friendly and professional even offering to teach the guests how to make the food. I would highly recommend if anyone is after catering in Puglia to use the Puglia Kitchen. The class with chef Domenico was amazing! You could feel his passion for food. It was a one on one private class at his family’s home. It was all in English (he’s fluent!) and he taught me how to make 2 types of pasta. Then he made delicious focaccia bread, cooked up the pasta, and dessert, and we had a fun discussion about Italian culture and food. The food was fresh and the ingredients were straight from his family’s garden. I highly recommend his class! He was was kind enough in sharing restaurants to go eat at in Puglia, and I couldn’t get through the whole list fast enough. Each place I went to was excellent. Grazie mille Domenico aka Puglia Kitchen!

I had actually met Domenico through mutual friends before I knew that he had studied to become a chef, I was aware of his skills and I had tasted his dishes a few times: gourmet pizzas with a cauliflower base during a (gluten free!) birthday party, some tasty lamb chops at an Easter gathering, some light and crunchy biscuits made on a cold winter evening.
But I did not know Domenico's cooking in it’s depth… at least not until recently, when I had a culinary experience with him, worthy of the most refined of palates, an experience in which Domenico showed he was not only good at cooking, but a real professional chef. A sensory experience in which some friends and I had organised an evening in, hiring Domenico to take care of the dinner party.
Everything took place without leaving anything to chance or improvisation. Domenico arrived at my friends’ home with a collection of items from his kitchen; thermal food containers, pots, pans, professional knives, plates and last but not least...his fantastic ingredients! Many of which are actually his own, from their family farm.
The kitchen was his kingdom, despite being in another persons home, he immediately put on his apron and began to prepare ingredients. Some were to be prepared onsite and some had been prepared a few hours prior.
In fact, with care and patience, for several hours during the day before his arrival, he had been busy in the kitchen to prepare some of the most complex and time-consuming preparations, such as marinating the fish and meat dishes.
A four course meal was served, the presentations were neat and beautiful.
The temperature of the dishes was always perfect.
The cooking was even, all the food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were distinguishable from one another, but still with a special combination of spices, aromas and different consistencies, a harmony of land and sea - typical ingredients of Puglia.
The organisation was impeccable: all preparations were ready in the right moment, despite some of them requiring different cooking types and times.
I will absolutely be hiring him again for another dinner party!
